Whole 30 - WTF is that?

Well, we have started on this new diet. It is being pushed by our gym and we have seen some amazing results in others so we decided to give it a try.
It is called "Whole 30" and is put on by the guys at whole9 (http://whole9life.com/category/whole-30/)
Essentially you are allowed to eat what a caveman or woman could eat 2000 years ago. You know, hunters and gatherers.
It started last Friday and it's been 1 week. This first week has been hard, lots of temptations, but the purpose is to stay true to the diet so your body can clense itself. I did not take a before picture, but probably should have. Either way, it is supposed to get better sometime in the next week and I sure hope it does. I have been worn out and starting to get cranky.

We have had different things almost every day, so it is not like there is a limited amount of food to eat.
Friday - We had Jersey Shore night at the house and cooked for 6. It was fun, we made salmon kabobs with red, green, & yellow peppers, mushrooms, and tomatoes. Had a salad as well with some sliced carrots.
Saturday - Breakfast was an omlet for each of us with some of the veggies from the night before. So a pretty typical breakfast for us. Lunch was some lunch meat (turkey, water, salt) were the only ingredients. It's harder to find than you'd think. Dinner was with the Hoette's in St. Louis, we cooked Sauted Orange Chicken with Ginger, with sweet potato fries. Then we settled catan a few times :)

The kicker to this whole thing, no booze...none.....pain dance..

The rest of the week has been chili, apple salad with chicken, Crackpot Chicken Carnitas on a bed of lettuce (Tasted just like a burrito bowl from Chipotle), a hamburger (sans bun), and sirloin steak and salad.

For breakfast and our Post Workout snack we tried Egg & Sweet Potato puffs, they were not as delicious as we had hoped and we haven't made them again yet.

We cooked most of this on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and have been eating the leftovers all week. Today is going to be another shopping day and we will get more fish, chicken, and veggies stocked up for the rest of the week.
